Officers pull man out of burning apartment

NOBLESVILLE, Ind.  -- Three Noblesville police officers are credited with helping to save at least one man's life when an apartment complex caught on fire Friday morning. 

Shortly after midnight, emergency crews were called to the Rivers Edge Apartment complex located in the 1000 block of Watermead Drive. 

The three police officers were the first to arrive. Two of them broke out a front window to one of the apartments and heard a man coughing. They eventually pulled him out of the window. He was taken to St. Vincents Fishers Hospital in good condition.

Another officer went to the back of the building, climbed onto a second story balcony and alerted some of the neighboring apartments. 

A female victim from another apartment was treated on-scene and was taken to Riverview Health in good condition. 

Two units were damaged. The Noblesville Fire Department estimates the fire caused $300,000 in damage. 

Crews are still investigating what caused the fire.
