INDIANAPOLIS — The oldest living survivor of the original USS Indianapolis has died.
Don Howison was also the last living officer of USS Indianapolis, according to the USS Indianapolis Facebook page.
Howison was born November 3, 1921 and passed away on January 3, 2020. He was 98 years old.
"Don was a wonderful man with a great sense of humor and outlook on life," the page shared in a post about Howison.
According to the USS Indianapolis there are now only 10 living survivors.
