INDIANAPOLIS -- A 21-year-old man was found fatally shot Wednesday afternoon on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
The shooting happened just after 5:00 p.m. at an apartment complex on the 3300 block of Tara Lane, near the intersection of 34th Street and Moeller Road.
Police arrived to find an unresponsive 21-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as 21-year-old Deshawn Patterson. Family members told police Patterson had moved to Michigan from Chicago before coming to Indianapolis.
Patterson lives with his 39-year-old cousin, who found him shot on the couch.
No other details were immediately available.
