SPEEDWAY, Ind. -- Speedway Police say one person died in a crash that shut down part of Crawfordsville Road
The wreck happened around 1:00 p.m. Sunday on Crawfordsville Rd. about a mile-and-a-half west of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Speedway Police say a Dodge Durango traveling westbound flipped over a median and landed on a Chevy Silverado pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene, while the driver of the Durango is expected to recover. Police don't know what caused the Durango driver to lose control.
Part of Crawfordsville Road, in the 5600 block near where the crash took place, re-opened shortly before 6:00 p.m. after being closed for more than four hours.
