One man killed in northeast-side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS -- One man was killed in a shooting early Wednesday morning on Indianapolis' northeast side.

The shooting happened just before 1 a.m., on the 2900 block of Oxford Lane. 

Police say when they arrived to the scene, they found a man who had been shot in the hand. His girlfriend -- uninjured -- was also at the scene.

They later learned a man had been taken to Community East Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the hospital.

The man who was shot in the hand was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in good condition.

Detectives have detained some people for questioning, but nobody has been arrested yet.

Police also found drugs at the scene.
