INDIANAPOLIS – A man was shot and killed on the east side Wednesday afternoon when a fight spilled out of a house and into the street.
Police were called around 2:30 p.m. to the 3700 block of East Market Street.
They arrived to find 22-year-old Deandre Johnson lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the back.
He was alert and conscious when police arrived, but quickly passed out and was taken to Eskenazi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police said there was at least one child inside the home at the time the fight broke out.
