INDIANAPOLIS — The Original Farmers' Market opened for business Wednesday at a new location.

Due to the East Market Street reconstruction project next to the Indianapolis City Market, the Original Farmers' Market will operate from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. each Wednesday at Monument Circle for the rest of 2020.

Utility relocation is underway on East Market Street between Delaware and Alabama Streets, and the roadway will close completely later this summer for road and sidewalk improvements.

The construction is part of a $6 million improvement of the Market East downtown district, according to the city.

After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Original Farmers' Market opened May 6 with additional social distancing and safety precautions in place.
