INDIANAPOLIS – Over 500 cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes found their forever homes during the fourth annual Indy Mega-Adoption Event this past weekend.
The two-day event at the Indiana State Fairgrounds showcased hundreds of animals from 25 different shelters and rescues across central Indiana.
Organizers say there were lines outside the showroom all weekend long as people waited their turn to get in and see if they could find their next furry family member.
Only a few dozen cats and dogs did not find a home at the event and those animals will be going back to the shelters.
Because there are still some animals available, Indianapolis Animal Care Services is extending the $30 adoption fee special through the end of June to help clear out the rest of the shelters and hopefully find the rest of those animals a happy home.
You can visit Indianapolis Animal Care Services at 2600 Harding Street.
