INDIANAPOLIS -- The parents of a girl involved in the Pike - Ben Davis basketball brawl are apologizing for what happened.
The fight on January 16led the IHSAA to cancel the rest of the season for both teams.
Tenia Yobbe watched her daughter, Angel Baker, get hit and then become involved in the fight.
"She's not taught to fight. She was taught to play the game. I want to apologize as a parent and she apologizes also," said Yobbe.
Angel's mom says the game was tense and that fueled the resulting chaos.
She believes coaches and referees failed to control bad behavior on both sides of the bench.
Yobbe says she wants the full video of the game released so people can see what really happened.
"I'd like to know it would be available so we can take a look at it... I want the world to see the truth," said Anthony Baker, Angel's father.
Angel Baker will return to Pike High School Tuesday after a five-day suspension.
The Pike girls basketball team will also take a course on Tuesday on sportsmanship as part of their punishment.
The Ben Davis team took the course last Wednesday.
