INDIANAPOLIS -- Police have located the truck they say struck a grandma pushing a toddler in a stroller on the city's west side earlier this month.
According to police the grandmother was pushing an infant in the stroller across West Washington street at Fleming Street around 5:30 pm. on September 21, when a vehicle struck them both. The vehicle did not stop.
Wayne Township fire officials say the grandmother was not seriously injured. The child was thrown from the stroller and taken to Riley Hospital for Children in critical condition.
Police were looking for a black 1999-2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 extended cab truck, with possible gray trim on the lower portion of the body and a chrome front bumper.
Police believe they located that truck on Tuesday at a home near I-465 and Washington Avenue. They do not know who was driving the truck at the time of the accident. No arrests have been made.
