INDIANAPOLIS -- A pedestrian is in critical condition after they were hit by a vehicle on Indianapolis' south side Wednesday evening.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the scene near the area of East Raymond Street and Churchman Avenue just after 8 p.m.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Their identity has not been released.

Police have not released what type of vehicle they are looking for.
