INDIANAPOLIS -- A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle on the city's west side Wednesday afternoon.

It happened just before 6 p.m. between Belmont Avenue and the South Harding Street railroad crossings.

Police say the person was semi-conscious when they were taken to the hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.

CSX released a statement Wednesday evening saying train operations in the area have been suspended while they investigate the accident.
