Pendleton correctional officer arrested

Posted

PENDLETON, Ind. -- A Pendleton Correctional Facility officer was arrested Tuesday at the Pendleton Correctional Facility on charges of trafficking with an offender, a Level 5 felony.

On Tuesday, Theresa Zuchowski was questioned by correctional police officers, and during a search of her personal property, two cell phones were found.

Indiana State Police arrested Zuchowski and transported her to the Madison County Jail.

“Our staff work in difficult, often volatile situations and this lone person should not diminish the perception the citizens have of our staff, who are hard-working individuals and provide a vital role in protecting our communities," Superintendent Dushan Zatecky said in a press release.

"I stand by our staff and will refer for prosecution those who choose to put their co-workers and others in dangerous situations for their own selfish greed. I would like to commend our Information and Investigations unit, along with Indiana State Police Detective, Bob May, on a successful arrest,” stated Superintendent Zatecky.

Zuchowski was hired on September 14, 2015.
