Person dies in motorcycle crash on Indy's northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS – A person died following a motorcycle crash on the city’s northwest side Thursday night.

Indianapolis police said the crash happened near 52^nd Street and Georgetown Road.

Officers said the male motorcyclist was driving southbound on Georgetown Road when a car pulled out into the street. The motorcyclist attempted to avoid the car but lost control and was thrown from the bike.

It isn't clear if the motorcyclist hit the car, police said.

The cyclist was taken to IU Methodist Hospital where he died, according to police.
