INDIANAPOLIS -- A 27-year-old man was shot and killed Friday afternoon while riding in a car on the east side.
Indianapolis police were called to the 4200 block of Emerson Avenue just before 1:30 p.m. Friday on a report of a person shot.
Officers arrived to find 27-year-old Carl Chislom suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives believe Chislom was a passenger in a vehicle that was shot at by occupants of another vehicle on Arlington Avenue.
The driver of Chislom's vehicle then drove him to a Citgo gas station on Emerson Avenue, where officers found him.
