INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police are investigating a shooting along busy West 38th Street on the city's west side Saturday evening.

The victim and his car ended up in the parking lot of a Jack in the Box restaurant on West 38th near North High School Road, not far from the I-465 interchange.

According to a public information officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, one person was shot "multiple times."

The victim was rushed by ambulance to Eskenazi hospital, where his condition stabilized, according to police.

What's not clear is what led up to the shooting and exactly where it took place.

Police were at the Jack in the Box gathering information on a possible suspect who drove off from the shooting scene.
