INDIANAPOLIS -- A violent week in Indianapolis continued Wednesday morning, with yet another fatal shooting on Indianapolis' far east side.

The shooting happened shortly before 5:30 a.m. in the 2700 block of Lullwater Lane in the Cumberland Lakes subdivision.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers said 22-year-old Cedric Carter was shot in the head and killed. Neighbors say they heard three to four shots fired.

A neighbor said he heard shots while he was in the bathroom, and when he looked outside to check, he saw a body lying in the road.

IMPD officers did not yet have any information on suspects or what exactly happened.

If you have any information, call the IMPD Homicide Office at (317) 327-3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317.262.8477.

It is the fourth shooting and fourth death as a result of that violence in the past two days, and the seventh homicide and sixth fatal shooting since Sunday.

Three people were shot and killed in separate incidents Sunday, culminating in a case that involved a 15-year-old luring the suspected shooter to a house where he was having a sleepover via an app. Two other people were shot and killed Tuesday, with a third in "very critical" condition.
