INDIANAPOLIS — Two major companies are teaming up with a new way to stop obnoxious robocalls.
Beginning today, T-Mobile and Comcast are going to start screening calls to weed out the spam.
They're using a system for all calls that go through both networks. The system verifies that whomever is calling is a real person. If it is, your caller ID will say "call verified."
T-Mobile said the system will be more effective if more phone companies get involved. Last year, Americans received more than 26 billion unwanted robocalls.
