Pit bull puppy thrown over fence finds home

The pit bull puppy that was thrown over the fence at the Humane Society for Hamilton County has found a forever home.

The shelter announced Wednesday that Miri has been adopted.

The Humane Society posted to its Facebook page last week that the puppy was hypothermic with a large gash on its head when it was found at 7:40 a.m. The puppy had apparently been thrown over the fence, and had a jump rope tied around its neck that had gotten tangled in play equipment in the shelter's yard.

Shelter employees brought the pit bull puppy, who they named Miri, inside and fed and warmed her up.

Hoosier Security donated two new security cameras for the shelter. The company donated all the shelter's previous cameras as part of a dying wish of a client. Hoosier Security also offered to enhance the footage of the puppy being abandoned so the people responsible can be pinned down.
