A 55-year-old woman was arrested late Wednesday evening in connection with a body found Tuesday afternoon.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrested Kathy Lyles, 55, and preliminarily charged her with the murder of 20-year-old Will Allen Smith.

Police found Smith in the backseat of a vehicle with a gunshot wound in the head in the 3700 block of Luewan Drive.

Witnesses reportedly told police the shooting originally occurred on the 3900 block of Candle Berry Drive.
This killing was one of many for the summer in Indianapolis. The city recently hit a tragic milestone: 100 murders in the year.

More than a fifth of them (22) have been under the age of 21. Four of them weren't even old enough to get their driver's licenses. The youngest was 3-month-old Janna Rivera, whose father now faces murder charges in her death.
