CARMEL — Carmel Police have asked two schools in the city to "shelter in place" as they work an incident that is unrelated in the area.

Police issued the order to Woodbrook Elementary School and Forest Dale Elementary School because of an incident in the area of 116th street and Haverstick Road.

Police are looking for a person on an unrelated incident and they ask residents to avoid the area. Right now there is no threat to the general public, Lt. Semester with the Carmel Police Department said.

Semester says they have asked the schools to shelter in place "out of an abundance of caution."

This is a developing story and will be updated with more information when it becomes available.
