MICHIGANTOWN, Ind. -- Two 19-year-olds were arrested Friday for allegedly building and detonating a pipe bomb near Clinton Central High School.
Officers from the Clinton County Sheriff's Office and ATF were called Wednesday to investigate a possible explosion on County Road 100 North in Michigantown, Indiana.
A sheriff's deputy found a "potential device" that had already been detonated along the north side of Clinton Central High School.
Bomb squad officers were called to sweep the area, but no other devices were found.
Police said they don't believe students or staff were ever in danger.
On Friday, Nathan T. Robertson, 19, and Reece A. Mennen, 19, both of Frankfort, Indiana, were charged with manufacturing a destructive device and possession of a destructive device. Robertson faces additional charges of transporting a destructive device, criminal mischief and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.
Both Robertson and Mennen were being held at the Clinton County Jail on a $1,200 bond.
