INDIANAPOLIS – A standoff between police and a barricaded man ended with the man taking his own life Tuesday night.
The standoff happened near the intersection of 10th Street and Country Club Road on the far west side.
Police were called to the area on a welfare check.
When officers arrived, the unidentified man reportedly told them to get out, and showed them a gun.
When police backed out, they heard a single gunshot.
It was initially reported the man was thought to have fired at police. Investigators said that turned out not to be the case.
No officers were injured in the standoff.
