IMPD investigating homicide on city's north side

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting on the city's north side. 

Police say it happened in the 3500 block of Salem Street. 

Police have not released information about the victim or a possible suspect.

Earlier Wednesday, police were investigating a homicide on the city's west side that marked the 100th homicide of the year in Indianapolis.

Police say the shooting happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 1900 block of N. Centennial Street.

When officers arrived, they found a 36-year-old man inside the side entrance of the house with one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
