INDIANAPOLIS -- It took Indianapolis police less than 24 hours to make an arrest on a homicide from Tuesday.
Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a shooting on the 6100 block of 11th Street. They found Erbie Thompson, 45, with head trauma and a gunshot wound to his hip.
Despite the work of the medical staff at Eskenazi Health, Thompson was pronounced dead at 7 p.m.

Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrested Jeremiah Walker, 33, and Jessica Figueiredo, 33, and preliminarily charged them with murder.
Police believe the shooting began as an attempted robbery. With help from witnesses, police were able to get a description of the suspects and the vehicle involved in the shooting.
