MUNCIE, Ind. -- Muncie police are investigating an apparent homicide on the city's southeast side.
Officers were called to the Middletown Gardens public housing complex, off East 16th Street, about 8:30 a.m. after a neighbor called about a man who had not been seen “for a few days,” Police Chief Steve Stewart said.
Police were able to gain access to the man's apartment where they found his body.
An autopsy later conducted at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital confirmed that the man did not die of natural causes.
He was identified as Larry Reed, 75. Police are not releasing the cause of death.
