NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – Four people were involved in a water rescue along the White River in Noblesville Sunday evening.
Lt. Bruce Barnes of the Noblesville Police Department said the incident happened when a canoe capsized in the water just north of the Field Drive bridge.
Two people were able to get out of the water without assistance and two others were clinging to a branch in the water when officers arrived.
Police rescued one of the victims and helped the other get to a safer position on the tree until Noblesville firefighters arrived and got that person to safety.
All four were taken to the hospital and released a short time later.
