INDIANAPOLIS — Police say a person whose body was found along the White River was murdered.
The discovery was made Monday by a person who found the body on the banks of the river near where Southern Avenue dead ends, just west of West Street.
"When officers arrived, they located an unknown person suffering from trauma," according to IMPD Public Information Officer Michael Hewitt."
Tuesday, the Marion County Coroner's Office determined the cause of death to be trauma and labeled the case a homicide.
The victim's name has not been released.
