INDIANAPOLIS -- Police are searching for two people who led officers on a chase early Wednesday morning.

The chase began when officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department heard gunshots during a traffic stop on Concord Street -- near West 16th Street.

A tactical squad happened to be chasing two people through some yards near the area when the shots were heard. A few houses were hit, but nobody was hurt. Police found some rifles in a yard under a car.

Around the same time, another officer on patrol near 16th Street and Medford Avenue came across a fast-moving car with no headlights and the back window shot out.

After a chase -- police say two people in the car got out and ran away near the intersection of 19th Street and Mansfield Street.

It's not clear if the people in the car had been shot. Police are still looking for them.
