MUNCIE, Ind. -- A suspect in a stabbing has died after he was shot by Muncie police officers.
Police Chief Steve Stewart says officers were called to a home on West 18th St. this afternoon on a report that a 15-year-old girl had been stabbed. Investigators say the suspect in the stabbing, Larry Stepp, 31, was still at the scene, and shots were fired when he refused police orders to put the knife down.
Stewart says Stepp and the 15-year-old were taken to a hospital. He said the teen is expected to recover, but Stepp died from his injuries.
Stewart also had no information on the relationship between the two.
