INDIANAPOLIS -- Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department didn't get much of a break over Labor Day weekend, as they responded to six different shootings across the city.
A man was shot and killed Saturday in the 2200 block of Bellefontaine Street.
Police say 22-year-old Jakoby Hughes was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people were shot Saturday evening during a backyard cookout in the 2800 block of S. Rybolt Ave.
Later that evening, a man was shot and killed on his motorcycle just feet away from where children played.
The fatal shooting took place near the area of 42nd Street and German Church Road.

A parent rushed over to help him, but it was too late. Police believe the shooting was gang-related.

The next day, another person was shot in the same area as the weekend's first fatal shooting. That victim was talking when police arrived at the scene. He was shot in the arm and leg.

People at the Phillips 66 gas station at 25th Street and Sherman Drive heard nearly a hundred shots fired. Officers on the scene collected nearly 30 shell casings. One woman is being treated in the hospital after being hit by a stray bullet.
Police do have a person of interest in that case.
