Two people were shot Saturday evening during a backyard cookout in the 2800 block of S. Rybolt Ave.

Corey Tibbs, 38, was arrested over the weekend in connection with the shooting. He faces preliminary charges of attempted murder, criminal recklessness with a weapon and possession of a handgun without a license.

Later that evening, a man was shot and killed on his motorcycle just feet away from where children played.

The fatal shooting took place near the area of 42nd Street and German Church Road.
