INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis couple caught a man on video peeping into their home in the Lockerbie Square neighborhood earlier this week.

Ryan Bayless said his doorbell surveillance camera has captured video of the same shirtless man creeping around their home and looking into their windows twice since Wednesday.

“I didn’t like it, but I don’t think he did anything necessarily illegal. It’s just something that gave you some pause,” said Bayless.

His wife reported the suspicious activity to police and the couple also posted it to the social media networking app Next Door. The app allows people living in the same neighborhood and others nearby to communicate about what’s going on in their area.

Bayless said he’s not the only one dealing with a peeping tom. Someone living just north of his neighborhood posted a similar camera image of a woman peering into their home from their front porch early Thursday morning.

“It is extremely helpful that if you see something, or if something happens and you’re alert to things that you put it on there,” said Bayless.

Bayless said after the recent incidents he plans to update the security at his home.

“Our house is lit up pretty good, but we’re going to put up some more. I think I’ll honestly put up some more cameras and security measures there,” said Bayless.

Police say if you notice anyone being suspicious or creeping around your neighborhood you should always report it.

They also offer the following tips to keep away unwanted guests:

  • Lock your doors
  • Keep your blinds and shades closed
  • Turn on your outdoor lights at night
  • Shut off any lights you’re not using inside your home so you can see outside.
