Purdue dorms to reach 100 percent occupancy

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Purdue University says its campus dormitories will have a 100 percent occupancy rating for the second year in a row when classes begin next fall.

School officials said Wednesday that all students who applied for housing prior to the May 5 deadline will have a place to live on campus.

Those who didn't can be placed on a waitlist. Students can also contact the school's Off-Campus Housing Department.

School officials say that as many as 400 students could be placed in temporary housing until longer-term residences can be found.

The schools say incoming freshmen are not required to live on campus, but most do.
