PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. -- Troopers seized 260 pounds of marijuana during a routine commercial vehicle inspection in Putnam County early Wednesday morning.

An Indiana State Police trooper stopped a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 around 7:30 a.m. that was hauling a load of fresh lettuce from Colorado to Florida.

During the inspection process, the trooper noticed several "criminal indicators." While searching the trailer, the trooper found 260 pounds of hydroponic marijuana concealed within a load of fresh lettuce.

The street value of the marijuana found is estimated at around $1 million.

The driver, Jorge Blanco-Diaz, 33, and co-driver, Adan Labanino Delacruz, 40, were both taken into custody. Both men are preliminarily charged with dealing marijuana.

The incident remains under investigation.
