Randomly placed Easter eggs helps Indy smile

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- On this Easter Sunday, you may have found some random Easter eggs around town filled with notes.

If so, you can thank the family of Maddie Ross.

Maddie was born with Spina Bifida and passed away in 2014. Her mom says she was always smiling.

So to keep her memory alive, her family puts on random acts of kindness throughout the year.

This Easter, they filled baskets, plants and 200 eggs with powerful inspiring notes and placed them throughout the city for families to find.

"Maddie had such a contagious smile. Anybody that has ever met Maddie, knew her would always remember her. I mean, she touched so many lives," Maddie's mom Paula Strauss said.

The family has created an organization called Maddie Smiles. They have danced to raise money for pediatric cancer, held toy drives for local hospitals and done other various acts of kindness throughout the year.
