MCCORDSVILLE — University of Indianapolis scientists determined skeletal remains found in the woods in April belonged to a missing McCordsville woman.

The McCordsville Police Department said scientists, led by Dr. Krista Latahan, director of the University of Indianapolis Human Identification Center, used dental records to determine the remains belonged to Patricia Dipasquale, 57, a McCordsville resident who had been missing since January 2017.

The Hancock County Coroner's Office was not able to determine a cause of death due to the extent of decomposition, but foul play is not suspected and the case is still under investigation.

On April 27, a man who was mushroom hunting found skeletal remains in the woods near the 6500 block of West County Road 900 North.
