INDIANAPOLIS -- A Markleville, Indiana, reserve police officer was arrested Wednesday for allegedly stealing a police license plate from his former department.
Dion L. Poole, 23, had worked as a reserve officer for the Jonesboro Police Department from April through June of this year, when he was fired by Jonesboro Police Chief Dennis Conrad.
Poole was subsequently hired as a reserve officer in Markleville.
Earlier this month, Jonesboro police discovered a license plate for one of their former police vehicles had been stolen from a locked cabinet. The plate had reportedly been seen recently on Poole's personal car.
On Wednesday, Indiana State Police troopers stopped Poole and reportedly found the stolen license plate under the correct plate for his 2009 Dodge Charger.
Poole was preliminarily charged with possession of stolen property. He was being held in the Madison County Jail.
