A man was struck by a vehicle while walking downtown near the Circle Centre Mall Thursday night
The collision occurred while the man was walking near the intersection of Capitol Avenue and Washington Street downtown.
The victim, who was identified as a retired police officer, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
No details were immediately released on what happened to the driver.
