LAFAYETTE — A police review board will meet Monday to go over details of a recent police-involved fatal shooting in Lafayette.
On January 20, Lafayette Police Officer Nathan Stoneking shot and killed an armed man as police tried to get him to surrender.
It happened in a residential neighborhood southeast of downtown Lafayette.
According to the Lafayette Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call of a man with a gun at the intersection of 23rd Street and State Street. While attempting to get the man to surrender, Officer Stoneking shot the suspect who died at the scene.
Stoneking has been with the department four years and is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal investigation.
