INDIANAPOLIS -- After months of rebuilding, the Rockville Road bridge has reopened to traffic.
The bridge was closed after a mobile car crusher crashed into it on January 10, causing over $1 million in damages.
A flatbed trailer was traveling northbound on I-465 when the hydraulic arm on the car crusher extended upward, striking the overpass support beams of the Rockville Road Bridge.
The trucking company that owns the truck involved in the crash was cited for 11 different violations.

Workers have been repairing that damage over the last few months. The bridge was not expected to open this soon, but the Indiana Department of Transportation says they were able to complete the work sooner than initially expected.
The Indy 500 Gordon Pipers helped ring in the re-opening, as well as the start of the month of May.
