INDIANAPOLIS – A popular restaurant on Mass Ave is back open for business after the roof collapsed Saturday while workers and customers were inside.
Emergency crews said about 50 people were evacuated from The Eagle shortly before 3 p.m. Owners said ice and water caused the roof on the exterior patio bar to give way.
Police said no one was hurt.

The Eagle opened this past summer and has the same owner as Bakersfield, a Mexican restaurant on Mass Ave.
We'll be closed for clean-up & we'll be back as soon as we can. We appreciate everyone's understanding & concern!

The Eagle reopened Sunday afternoon. The interior of the restaurant was not damaged by the collapse, and the owners say the patio bar will be repaired and back open in the spring.
Don't worry, Indy. You won't be without the bird for long. We'll be back open for business and chicken at 4pm today!
