Student arrested after making verbal threat against Rushville Consolidated High School

RUSHVILLE, Ind. -- A student has been arrested after making a verbal threat against Rushville Consolidated High School on Wednesday. 

Rush County Schools sent a note to parents saying that the administration was made aware of the threat at the end of the day and the student responsible was arrested and placed at a juvenile detention facility.

Rush County Schools sent the following note to parents Wednesday evening. 

"At the end of the school day on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, the administration at Rushville Consolidated High School was made aware of a verbal threat that was made against the school. The Rushville Police Department was notified immediately and the student responsible for the threat has been arrested and placed at a juvenile detention facility. This is believed to have been an isolated incident. School safety is extremely important; all threats to our students and staff are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. Therefore, we will have extra security at all of our schools on Thursday. 

We want you to have the facts so you can discuss them with your child and emphasize the seriousness of the issue. "
