INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Department of Public Works is keeping its drivers busy. 40 of them will be salting the roads for the third straight day Wednesday evening.

DPW says 40 trucks will be out during the evening to prepare roads for the Thursday morning rush hour. Thoroughfares and secondary streets will receive a coating of de-icer salt.

The Wednesday into Thursday forecast in similar to what we've seen all week. Flurries are possible, with a low of 28—just the sort of conditions that could lead to slippery roads.

The DPW also points out that the current weather pattern is ideal for creating potholes. If you see one within the City of Indianapolis, you are asked to report it to the Mayor's Action Center at 317-327-4622. DPW is sending up to 90 workers out into the streets each day to fill potholes.
