PLAINFIELD -- A Plainfield family is asking your to join the fight against cancer by joining the Light the Night Walk on Saturday, October 8.
Five-year-old Elisa was just three years old when she was diagnosed with leukemia.
Her parents, Suzanne and Mikel, said Elisa had no energy, would sleep for hours at a time in the middle of the day, and she was very pale.
Even though she's now in remission, Elisa gets in-home chemotherapy every 12 weeks.
Her parents enrolled Elisa in a study to help find better treatment intervals for children with cancer that will hopefully lead to fewer side effects.
She will lead the parade at the Light the Night Walk this Saturday, October 8, as the honored hero
