INDIANAPOLIS — Meijer launched it's Shop & Scan Technology to all of its grocery stores in Indianapolis on Tuesday — making the self-checkout lane that much faster.

It all starts with downloading Meijers app on to your cell phone. From there, shoppers can scan bar codes on items throughout the entire store, grab and bag their groceries as they go, all while tallying up a final purchase list.

Upon completing their shopping experience, shoppers simply scan their completed list at the self-checkout lane and pay.

Watch the step-by-step video on how to shop and scan with Meijer's app.

The final shopping list is also integrated with available coupons from Meijer, called mPerks.

According to Maureen Mitchell, Meijer's Regional Vice President, the app has been downloaded more than 1.1 million times since the initial Shop & Scan launch in Michigan last year. The shop and scan experience is available at 136 Meijer stores in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Meijer also launched their new shop and scan technology at its stores in Lafayette, Kokomo, Muncie, and Anderson.
