INDIANAPOLIS -- A new and unique distillery is opening on Mass Ave that will give you a taste of science with your spirits.
Thomas Wysocki is a chemist at Eli Lilly, his wife Heather is an engineer. The two got the idea to put what they know best into a business model. This week, they'll see that idea come to life when they open Broken Beaker.

In the back room, vodkas, gins, and rums are all being created using chemistry. But it's the customer who will decide which equation creates their perfect concoction.

"We can create a product back here and we can ship it up to the customers up front and go, 'Hey, guys what do you think?'" Thomas said.
Distillery manager Craig Rogers said the science theme translates into all aspects of the customer's experience in the tasting room.
"We actually have one of these little test tube beakers that one of our cocktails has sweet vermouth that comes in on the side, so the customers actually able to pour it into their taste," Rogers said.
You can experience the cocktail chemistry firsthand at their grand opening Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
