WEST LAFAYETTE — Calling all dogs and dog owners.

Your input is needed by a Purdue scientist who is joining in a national effort to find dogs to participate in a national study regarding the general health and wellness of our four-legged pals.

The Dog Aging Project is looking at dogs from all breeds and mixes from across the nation looking for different aspects of dogs' lives that affect their health.

The study is scheduled to last at least 10 years, and owners will need to complete surveys about their dog's health and lifestyle. Dogs will need to continue to visit their veterinarian for their regular annual examination.

All dogs that are entered will be eligible to participate in the various studies. The researchers recently reached 75,000 dogs for the study.

Owners can go here for more information and to register their dogs.
