INDIANAPOLIS – The driver of semi-truck died after the vehicle crashed and burst into flames on I-74 Wednesday morning.
The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-74 in Franklin Township near Action Road.
Indianapolis firefighters found the trailer engulfed in flames but the driver was not immediately located. Ffirefighters discovered the body of the driver entrapped under the wreckage.
Witnesses said the semi drove off the road and crashed into a tree line where it caught fire, but police aren't exactly sure why this happened.
The name of the driver has not been released.
