INDIANAPOLIS --  A Columbia Club hotel guest and two workers, who were trapped in an elevator, were rescued by Indianapolis firefighters.

Firefighters arrived at the hotel on Monument Circle around 9:30 Saturday night.

They found a 17-year-old trapped, upside down, between the elevator and the shaft wall at the 10th floor.

Firefighters also discovered two of the club’s employees trapped inside the elevator, which automatically shut down due to the man’s position.

The employees heard the man screaming for help and called 911.

Firefighters pried the door open and got the man out.

He said he was 'goofing around' in the elevator shaft which he accessed at the 8th floor.

The man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in good condition with minor injuries.

The two workers, a man in his 50's and a 28-year-old woman, were not hurt.
