MORGAN CO., Ind. -- A Shelbyville man died Thursday night after a tree fell onto his ATV in Morgan County.
Indiana Conservation Officers were called to the 3300 block of South Conservation Club Road in Morgantown around 7:30 p.m.
They found a large part of a tree had fallen on Robert Blacker, 28, of Shelbyville, Ind.
Blacker was pronounced dead at IU Health Morgan Hospital in Martinsville.
Officers say Blacker was helping a friend gather wood and limbs.
It appears the tree fell while Blacker was pulling a large bundle of limbs with the ATV. Authorities say it doesn't look like he was trying to take down the tree.
Officer don't know why the tree fell.
Blacker wasn't hearing a helmet or any protective gear.
